Terms and Conditions

Taekwondo Canberra

By becoming a member of Taekwondo Canberra and it’s partners, you agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions:

1. Taekwondo Canberra operates a year round program and payments are made every fortnight, month or quarter depending on your preferred payment method or until a cancellation is made.

2. Confirmation of enrolment: All enrolments should receive a Members Portal Login with a link & pin number to access their profile to make & cancel bookings as well as purchase membership and products.

3. Fees will be paid by recurring billing though your credit card or direct debiting your bank account. Cash payments are not accepted.

3a. Direct debits are collected by Ezidebit, so please note that “Ezidebit” will be shown on your statement.

4. Recurring billing schedules and quarterly fees are not modified due to class or venue changes, public holidays or other reasons.

5. Recurring billing payment schedules started after the membership has begun will have outstanding payments processed from the nominated account or credit card.

6. Students whose fees are paid by recurring billing will be automatically re-enrolled if they have not notified us of cancellation by the last day of the re-enrolment period.

7. Changes to fees will be advised by email to the address you gave us last. You authorise us to modify the recurring billing schedule in line with price changes.

8. Introductory Period: We want to give students and parents the chance to try out our classes without any ongoing financial commitment. Intro period runs to an agreed period between the instructor and the student for no longer than 4 weeks.

9. Introductory period students may cancel at any time. After the introductory period, students may discontinue or choose a suitable membership plan.  Students will be automatically re-enrolled if they have not notified us of cancellation by the last day of the  introductory period.

10. Absences: Students may attend an alternate class in lieu of any missed classes.

11. Cancellations Policy: Commitment is an important part of martial arts. With the exception of students in their introductory period who are working out whether our classes are right for them, students who are re-enrolled for a membership plan are expected to finish the plan.

a. Cancellations must be made in writing to Taekwondo Canberra through our email: hwaju@tkd-canberra.com.au

b. Cancellations must be made to our officers email, not to instructors.

c. There are no refunds for cancellations made for quarterly payments.

d. For recurring billing, the cancellation fee is equal to the total amount of the payments remaining in the current membership plan.

e. There are no cancellation fees for students in their introductory period.

12. Absences of more than 2 weeks due to medical reasons are eligible to have payment credit for classes missed applied to their fees.

13. Pauses to recurring billing schedules or payment credit are available to families who have a pre-planned absence of more than half the membership plan with quarterly and monthly plans. You must notify us prior to this period.

14. We reserve the right to change class times, venues or instructors at our discretion at any time. Every effort will be made to find a suitable alternative.

15. Classes may be held on Public Holidays. Keep an eye on the calendar for these classes  Students may attend an alternate class in Lieu of classes not held.

16. Communication from us: It is your responsibility to read correspondence sent to your nominated email address and phone number. This includes checking spam filters.

17. If you are not receiving statements and announcements  it is your responsibility call 0478 214 445 or email hwaju@tkd-canberra.com.au and help us to update your details so you can receive important communications regarding you or your child’s training.

18. Contact details:  It is your responsibility to provide accurate contact details including phone numbers, email address and postal address.

19. Changing contact details: It is your responsibility to update contact details with us when they change.

20. Communication to us: We are available during most hours for you to get in touch with us. Please do get in touch if you have any questions, queries, feedback or complaints. 22. Personal Attire: Taekwondo Canberra and their partners branded uniform must be worn when attending your classes.

23. Changes to Terms and Conditions. Taekwondo Canberra reserves the right to change the terms and conditions from time to time. In the event of changes to any of these conditions, we will notify you of such changes by one or some of the following: published in our newsletter, or posting a notice on our website, or writing to the address you last gave us (e-mail or mail).

24. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions: The most up-to-date terms and conditions always apply. By continuing to pay subsequent membership plan fees, you agree to the current terms and conditions that apply at that time. You can find copies of the most up-to-date terms and conditions from our website at https://taekwondo-canberra.com/. Payment confirms your acceptance of the current Terms and Conditions.

25. If information contained within these Terms and Conditions differs from information that is verbally communicated to you by an instructor whether in person at one

of our venues, or over the phone, the terms and conditions outlined in most up to date Terms and Conditions will apply.

26. Photos and video may be taken during class and other Taekwondo Canberra events and associated groups. These may be used for promotional purposes for Taekwondo Canberra. If you do not wish to allow pictures and videos of you or your children, you will need to notify in writing to our email address: hwaju@tkd-canberra.com.au.

Acknowledgment of Risks, Injury & Obligations

{Full Name}  of {Full Address}  acknowledge that the activity I am to undertake is a dangerous activity and that by participating in it I am exposed to certain risks.

I acknowledge and understand that whilst participating in such activity;

  • I may be injured, physically or mentally, or may suffer permanent harm to my person;
  • My personal property may be lost or damaged;
  • Other persons participating in such activity may cause me injury or may damage my property;
  • I may cause injury to other persons or damage their property;
  • The conditions in which the activity is conducted may vary without warning;
  • I may be injured or die or suffer damage to my property as a result of the negligence or breach of contract by Taekwondo Canberra;
  • There may be no or inadequate facilities for treatment or transport of me if I am injured;
  • I assume the risk of and responsibility for any injury, death or property damage resulting from my participation in the activity.
